Dear
Parishioners,
As
you may remember, we partnered with the Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) in
2013 to undergo a priority planning process.
Part of that process involved listening sessions in which we heard from
you about the needs of our community and the direction we should go. We have begun to implement many of those
ideas and now have a plan to move forward.
We
have another opportunity as a result of our collaboration with CLI. We
have been selected as one of sixteen parishes in the US to participate in a
national study of vibrant parishes.
The team at CLI eventually hopes to reach hundreds of parishes from
around the country to help identify
“best practices” and factors for active engagement.
Please
help us participate by completing a
10-15 minute online survey. The
survey will be emailed to you by catholicparishstudy@measuring-success.com. The timeframe to complete the survey is from February 17 to March 10. You are asked to reflect on your own
spiritual growth and provide feedback on what efforts the parish is doing to
help you grow. All responses will be
confidential and the parish will only receive feedback about the community as a
whole.
The
information will be helpful to me, the staff and our ministry leaders as we plan
for those things that will enable continued growth as disciples and people of
faith. After we receive the results of
the survey in May/June, we will share
that information with the entire parish community.
If
you have not updated your email address through the in-pew solicitation or we
do not have a current email address
for you, please send an email to Maxine Coats at mcoats@churchofsaintmary.com with your name and
current phone number so that we can add you to the list. If you
do not use email, there will be other opportunities to complete the survey
after daily and Sunday Mass and you can obtain a paper copy by stopping by the
parish office or contacting Maxine in the parish office at (918) 749-1423.
We
are collecting data from the ground up and want to learn from you—your
experience of faith as you live it in the context of your life situation. The more people we have participate, the
better picture we will have of the ongoing needs for the community. Thank
you in advance for your input in this important project.
Sincerely
yours in Christ,
Fr
Jack
