Fellowship and Prayer: Maryfair, Party at the Parsonage, and the Living Rosary

Hello all! My name is Olivia, and I’m a new parishioner here at St. Mary’s. I thought I should introduce myself since I’ll be blogging a little for the Young Adult group. I have been overwhelmed by the welcome I received from the St. Mary’s community and by the range of activities offered.

Maryfair was amazing – who else loved the fans? I was also impressed by the tenacity of the turtle racers, the abundance of food, and the flyby of the vintage airplanes.

I recently attended the Young Adult’s Party at the Parsonage. A crowd of us shared in excellent food and still more excellent conversation with Father Jack at the rectory – leftover Maryfair beans never tasted so good.

To commemorate Our Lady of the Rosary, the Legion of Mary gathered to make a living rosary after the 5 pm Mass. We stood around a huge rope rosary, and each person led part of a decade. The music, courtesy of Kathy Beckham, was fabulous, and I left with a renewed sense of grace.

Maryfair, Party at the Parsonage, and the Living Rosary: Family, fellowship, and prayer. Each experience was immensely rewarding, and if you haven’t done so, I highly recommend taking advantage of all St. Mary’s has to offer. As a new parishioner, I can’t wait to become more involved in this warm community!
