First Communion Recap

 First Communion took place at the begining of this month. I wanted to share some photos a parent sent me of this wonderful occasion.
These 2nd graders have spent nearly the past year preparing for their first opportunity to receive the Eucharist. It's an exciting time for parents and children.

This year was unique and special because of the new sacramental program that Linda Schoonover, the Children and Youth Religious Education Director, implemented last September. Read more about the new program and how it worked out in the Church of Saint Mary April Newsletter on page 4 and 5.

The biggest change was parents joining their kids during learning sessions at the church. It was awesome to see parents and children leaning over the lessons and talking them over together.
