The Eastern Oklahoma Catholic Magazine recently featured an article concerning the highly-anticipated visit of Mr. George Weigel to Tulsa. Mr. Weigel is one of the leading Catholic intellectuals and writer of our time. The influence of his writings has world-wide impact. The recent resignation of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has promoted much activity in Rome and Mr. Weigel has had to cancel all speaking engagements until the Conclave to elect a new pope is complete. He is currently in Rome to prepare for the events of the Conclave and will be narrating those events as they take place. (You will see Mr. Weigel on television during the Conclave itself.) We regret that Mr. Weigel will not be in Tulsa as planned. He has been contacted and is currently planning to re-schedule his visit to Tulsa in February 2014. More information will be made available as time approaches regarding his possible visit next year.
