Here is a description of each of our projects!
Project #1--Colonial Manor Nursing Home
Volunteers in the this project will go to Colonial Manor Nursing home that is in our parish neighborhood and do a simple art project with residents of Colonial Manor. This is a great projects for families with younger children!
Project #2--Catholic Charities
Volunteers will help in Catholic Charities food pantry and donation center and assist in cleaning up the garden.
Project #3--Day Center for the Homeless
This organization serves approximately 400 people per day, providing food, warmth, shelter and safety to those in need. Volunteers will serve a mid-morning meal to the Day Center guests and work in the Donation Center. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older.
Project #4--Habitat for Humanity, A Brush with Kindness
A Brush with Kindness supports revitalization projects in low income Tulsa neighborhoods. Volunteers will clear sideways and alleyways and do some touch up painting on homes. Volunteers need to be 12 years old and older.
Project #5--School of Saint Mary
Volunteers will help get the school playground in tip-top shape for the school year by cleaning up play areas and spreading new mulch. Volunteers must be 12 years old and older. Please bring rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows if you have them.
Project #6--SOLT Haiti Mission
Volunteers will make school uniforms for the children at the SOLT Mission School. We need 3-7 volunteers to provide and use a sewing machine, other volunteers will cut, pin and iron fabric.
Project #7--School Supply Drive
This project will be an opportunity for our parish youth to help those in need who do not have what they need to head back to school. The project volunteers will work to gather and assemble backpacks and school supplies to be given to children who would otherwise not have what they need for the first day of school. **We need 2-3 Virtus trained adult trained volunteers to supervise the youth.
